I bought a set of these to replace a broken gear tie that was chewed off by my dog on my osprey backpack—worked great! The picture shows me using a pair of them to attach my fishing pole on my last backpacking trip (with the offending dog inspecting). It’s really nice that Gossamer Gear has these options available to easily modify your setup, Gossamer or otherwise! I will be back to buy more for sure
The best for securing your umbrella. I've tried other methods DIY like cordlocs and bungees but this works best because it does not slip and holds up in the wind. If you have a angle issue between your pack and the umbrella you can usually solve it with changing the placement. The only negative is the bungee relies on tension, once you loosen the clip there's nothing to hold it to your pack. I will probably add a small carabiner or cord to keep this from happening but I recommend buying extra for when you lose them.
Works as intended when the poles were on my pack but got lost when I took my poles off to use as it just slips through a loop on the pack and doesn’t really tie on.
I've only used these once so far, but they are really slick. The cords have a "ribbed" texture so they didn't loosen at all. Super easy and convenient to use.
Only minor gripe is that I had to tuck them inside a pocket when I started using my poles
Better umbrella attachment kit. The bungy cord locks are intuitive. I use one to attach the umbrella grip to the lower pack strap while the second securely fixes the umbrella pole to the upper pack strap or load lifter. This minimizes unwanted umbrella swing that is a constant problem with the branded GG umbrella attachment system.
Good for everything.
I have been using these nonstop for a couple years for just about everything you can imagine. Super reliable and versatile.
Would love a beefed up version, or glow in the dark.
They do the job!
Good product and they work. I added them to one of my Osprey packs that did not come with stow-n-go trekking pole attachments. I also use a cheap bungie off of that one online reseller we all know and they break. These have not broken yet but I do wish they were thicker. They seem strong enough, even though they're thin, but they'd be easier to handle if they had some more heft to them... and that would not add much in the way of weight for those concerned about that. Like a gram or two maybe
Best to keep extra set handy
These are great paired with umbrella attachment. I find i need to use more than one to make the umbrella stable on my shoulder harness. And i seem to lose one periodically so good to keep an extra in resupply or pack.
A True Necessity
I continue to purchase this product as it is an absolute necessity for hiking and backpacking. Wanna hike to an alpine lake, but don’t want your wet Chacos in your bag Strap them to the outside! Wanna do an overnight trip, but your sleeping bag is too big for your bag Strap it to the back! These bungee cords are so so helpful. You will not regret this purchase. These also make for a great birthday/Christmas present or genuine gift to your favorite hiking buddy.
Perfect for Holding Trekkkng Poles!
These are perfect for holding my trekking poles on my Mariposa pack. They adjust super easy. And are at a great price.
Love them but don’t lose them
A must have for attaching poles or ice axe to the Mariposa, always secure. Only negative is that if you forget to cinch it tight after you take off your poles or whatever you have tied to them like dirty socks, they can easily fall off. Just remember to cinch them back down if they aren’t in use.
Perfect!
This is exactly what I needed to keep trekking poles in place on one of my favorite backpacks. Easy to attach and keeps my poles securely in place. I highly recommend checking these out!
Great gizmo!
Really good for what they're made for: securing trekking poles. I use them on my Mariposa, which has a good way to secure the bottoms of the poles but not the top so much, without twisting straps around them. They're also great with my GG day pack. Secure and they remain tight.
Good price, light, and gets the job done.
These are great to give the option of stowing trekking poles. Handy to have and will get the job done. It held my trekking pole in place doing some serious bushwhacking in the Linville Gorge Wilderness so I am impressed.
